The United Methodist Church in Stow sponsors the following missions during the year:

UMC in Stow Food Pantry- Our food pantry is stocked with nonperishable items collected by church members and various groups. Hours are 9 am-noon weekdays. It is open M-Th 9 am-Noon.

Open M- This is a mission in Akron that feeds the hungry of the community. Three times a year various church members cook and serve a lunch for up to 150 people. The ingredients, the volunteers, and the time are donated by our church members. In addition, we give money donations to help Open M continue its good work throughout the year.

Good Neighbors- This is a mission to clothe and feed the poor. There is also a food pantry we donate to along with boxes of school supplies. Gary Combs, one of our parishoners, takes the load of donations bi-weekly to Good Neighbors.

Boy Scouts- Boy Scout Troop #270 meets each Tuesday at 7pm in Fellowship Hall. For more information about Troop 270, go to www.gtc270.org.

Battered Women's Shelter- The Celebrate Life Class, a Sunday School class for women, donates their time, talents, and gifts to give to the women of this shelter much needed personal supplies, gifts for the children, and much needed hope and support for women who need it. A donation box is located in the hallway. A special collection is taken for Valentine's Day.

The Lighthouse of Hope- This project was started by Mrs. Burgy and feeds the poor of her Akron, Ohio community as well as serving as a Christian example for the adolescents of the area. We give socks and school supplies.

During the year we collect for the following missions during special days: Native American Sunday, United Methodist Students' Sunday, World Communion Sunday, Peace with Justice Sunday, and Human Relations Day.

We put a portion of our Sunday collection toward apportionments which pay for pastor pensions and health care, university scholarships, Africa University, missions around the globe, and more.
